IISER KOLKATA FOUNDATION DAY
The students from classes VIII and IX of Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus were invited to attend the Foundation Day of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, on 10 July 2026 for an enlightening educational experience. The students explored diverse exhibitions across the Geology, Biology, Physics, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Zoology departments. They engaged with professors, examined fascinating models—such as a DNA sequencer, a simple pendulum, and live chemical reactions. Additionally, several students were interviewed regarding their experiences.
A major highlight of the day was the main event in the auditorium, where students were addressed by two eminent speakers. The Chief Guest was Prof. Gobardhan Das (Member of NITI Aayog, Government of India, and Former Director of IISER Bhopal), alongside the Guest of Honour, Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta (Distinguished International Conservative Political Economic & Foreign Policy Expert). Both dignitaries were warmly introduced and felicitated by Prof. Sunil Kumar Khare, the Director of IISER Kolkata.
The visit ended at 2:30 p.m., with the students bringing back souvenirs and cherished memories.
