Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition

Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus organized the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition for all students from Class VI to Class IX. The topic of the competition was: “A Letter to My Role Model”. The school also hosted a special talk on the importance of our Philately Club on Friday, 14 November 2025. It is a club that brings together individuals who share a hobby of collecting stamps and learning about postal history.

The special guests of the programme were – Mr. Biswajit Dutta, Office Assistant in the Philately Branch of India Post; Mr. Biswajit Biswas, Marketing Executive (International Mail) at India Post; Mr. Arpan Basu Chowdhury, Social Media Section, MTS.

It was an interactive session between the guests and the club members. Students shared their experience of collecting stamps and studying about the history of each. Discussions regarding past and future activities of the club were held. The members were given tokens of appreciation on the occasion of Children’s Day. Subhanwita Banerjee (Class VIII A) was presented with customised stamps on the occasion of her birthday.
