Webinar on Health Awareness

Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus,organised a webinar on health awareness on Thursday 7 May 2026.

The webinar introduced Y-SMilES, a joint initiative by Central Board of Secondary Education and Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences for students aged 11–17 years. The program focused on preventing non-communicable diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and fatty liver through awareness, screening, and lifestyle interventions in schools. Experts highlighted the role of schools as public health institutions and emphasized early identification of metabolic health risks. The initiative includes health profiling, counselling, FibroScan screening, and teacher involvement to promote healthier students, families, and communities, aiming to build a healthier future generation in India.
