Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on Friday, 9 May 2025, with great reverence. The programme began with floral tributes to the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore. Teachers and students presented his poems and songs, as well as dance performances on Rabindra Sangeet. The cultural presentations reflected Tagore’s timeless legacy. The event concluded with an inspiring speech by the Principal, highlighting the relevance of Tagore’s philosophy in today’s world. The celebration was both enriching and memorable.

Description:

Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus organized an Inter-House General Knowledge Quiz for Classes 3 to 10 on Tuesday, 6 May 2025, in collaboration with Nutshell GK and Satikanta Guha Centre for Culture & Learning. Students were grouped into three categories: Classes 3 to 5, 6 to 8, and 9 to 10. Each category had five rounds, with an additional audio round for Classes 9 and 10. Covering topics like Sports, History, Movies, and Science Fiction, the quiz encouraged lateral thinking and was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.

Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus conducted a special assembly to pay tribute to Dr. K. Kasturirangan, a distinguished scientist and a key architect of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

One of the students highlighted the contributions of the renowned scientist, particularly his achievements in space research, and outlined his pioneering role in drafting NEP 2020. The Principal of the school, Mrs.Ratna Biswas offered flowers at his portrait, honouring his immense contribution to the nation.

The assembly encouraged students to pursue excellence through knowledge and innovation.

Description:

Students of Class 12 from Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus visited the Paleontology Lab at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata for their Biology Board project on Tuesday, 29 April 2025 and Wednesday, 30 April 2025.

Guided by Dr. Subhronil Mandal, Assistant Professor, Earth Sciences, they observed various fossils and learned about fossil collection techniques. The visit provided valuable insights into paleontological research. Students later submitted detailed project reports based on their observations and learnings during the visit. The experience enriched their understanding of evolutionary biology.

Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus conducted a Parent Orientation Programme on Saturday, 26 April 2025 for Classes 10 and 12. The Principal and teachers discussed key academic areas including examination pattern, attendance as per CBSE norms, internal assessments, compulsory area evaluation, pass criteria, and the List of Candidates (LoC). The Principal also highlighted the importance of regular attendance and clarified doubts regarding the Board examination process and schedule, ensuring transparency and preparedness for the academic year.

Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus congratulates Adhrit Bhattacharya of Class 2 and Anargha Majumder of Class 3 for their outstanding performance in the Level 2 of the Silverzone Olympiads for English and Science.

Adhrit Bhattacharya won the Gold Medal of Excellence and a monetary reward for securing the first rank in the English Olympiad.

Anargha Majumder won the Bronze Medal of Excellence in English and the Gold Medal of Excellence in the Science Olympiad, along with a monetary reward.
