IISER Seminar on Netaji

Students of Garden High School IISER Kolkata Campus participated in a seminar organised by the Hindi Cell (Rajbhasha Karyashala) of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata on Wednesday, 25 January, 2023. The topic for the seminar was “Netaji: Bharat Ka Swatantrata Andolan Evam Aage”. Professor Kapil Kumar and Professor Dr Madhusudan Pal were the speakers for the day.

Professor Kapil Kumar is a former professor of History and Director of the Centre for Freedom Struggle and Diaspora Studies, IGNOU, New Delhi, India, and a visiting professor at Monash University, Australia. He currently holds the Professorial Chair of Contemporary Indian Studies at the University of West Indies, Port of Spain, Trinidad. Dr Madhusudan Pal is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Medical College, Kolkata, and a scholar on Netaji.

They enlightened the audience with new and previously unexplored perspectives on Netaji and the Indian National Army’s role in the Freedom Struggle of our country.
